Packing for an Elopement in Ireland Ireland is the land of fairytales and romance, and it's the perfect place to elope. If you're planning a quick and intimate wedding in Ireland, here are some tips to help you prepare. Pack the Right Shoes for the Occasion We can't stress enough how important it is to pack a pair of comfortable shoes for your elopement in Ireland. You will be doing a lot of walking, both on the day of your wedding, depending on location and in preparation for it. If you want to wear dressy shoes at your actual wedding, we suggest packing them in a bag and changing into them at the ceremony site. Consider the Weather The weather can be unpredictable in Ireland, so make sure you check the forecast before packing. If it's raining on your wedding day, you may not want to bring your best shoes if they aren't waterproof. Try to layer up with a few different options so that you can wear something over your special wedding day clothes. Don't Forget Your Passport You'll need a passport to travel to Ireland and get married if you're travelling from out of the country for a destination wedding. Your passport should be valid for at least six months after the date of travel. If your passport is going to expire within three months of travelling, you will need to apply for an extension from your country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs or equivalent department. Don't Leave Your Rings Behind You don't want to forget your rings! The rings are a symbol of your love and commitment, so make sure you don't lose them before you say, "I do." Make sure that when you're packing for your elopement that your rings are at the top of your packing list along with any other jewellery, you will be wearing at your wedding. Keep It Simple
If a wedding in Ireland is your dream, then keep it simple and don't worry about the details! The important thing is that you get to marry the love of your life in one of the world's most spectacular landscapes.
