Throughout my 10 years of filming weddings all over Ireland, I have seen the best (and worst) wedding bands  I’ve been lucky enough to witness weddings bands from Dublin to Galway and from Cork to Donegal.
I’m am often asked by my couples which wedding band would I recommend for them so I have decided to put together this list of bands for weddings in Ireland for you, my clients or potential couples.
I know there are hundreds of wedding bands in Ireland and obviously, this list is not exhaustive, rather it is based on my experiences having to see these wedding bands in Ireland for over a decade.

Common questions you might want to ask your wedding band

1. What are your requirements at the venue?
2. Can you play our first dance song live?
3. We don't want too much attention on use can you invite the bridal party on the floor after 30 seconds of our first dance?
4. Do you do any showcases so we can see you live before our wedding?
5. If the dance floor is empty how would you get our guests involved more?
6. What happens if a band member is sick?
7. On the off chance things run late can the band still play the agreed for the agreed length of time?
8. Do we need to give you anything or do you just play a usual set-list?
9. What time will the band arrive at the venue to set up?

Of course my list of the best weddings bands is not exhaustive and everybody has their own preference and music choice is so personal too.

The Vinyls

Perfect Day
Playing over 100 weddings and events a year, Perfect Day have a pretty good idea what gets people dancing (I even found myself singing along to their video!). Tailoring their playlist to your wedding, whether your guests are 28 or 82, Perfect Day have an extensive repertoire which means that they always have just the right floor-filler up their sleeve. There's a reason these guys are one of the most sought-after wedding bands in Ireland!

A Few Good Men
A high-energy wedding band with serious style, A Few Good Men deliver a polished performance that's earned them an exceptional reputation. Their fun stage presence, diverse line-up and extensive set list means this band will get even the most reluctant dancers on the floor. The band offer options for DJ and drinks reception music too. This is definitely one to check out on your wedding band search!


The Mixtape
Performing nationwide, The Mixtape are a wedding band with a firm focus on fun. As their name suggests, The Mixtape tailor their setlist to each couple and each wedding, keeping you and your guests on the dancefloor for the night with all your favourite songs. Off The Wall 
Off The Wall are a fun five-piece band who bring a cool twist to every song on their cracking party playlist. Made up of seasoned musicians who have played alongside some big names (cough *Prince* cough), this band guarantees a heck of a show for you and your guests! Their repertoire is full of classics old and new, but we're particularly taken with their version of Fleetwood Mac's Dreams!

Craddóg
With a distinctive trad sound, Craddóg lend a fun Irish twist to any wedding. The band - whose members have both trad and rock backgrounds - offers a a selection of packages covering your drinks reception and after dinner music to late night entertainment. They can even amp up the atmosphere with an energetic céilí or provide your guests with a Riverdance-style show. The Controversial All-Stars
Best known as the frontman for beloved rock group PictureHouse, Dave Browne also heads up one of the best wedding bands in the country, The Controversial All-Stars. With a huge and crowd-pleasing repertoire covering artists as diverse as Prince, The Killers, Abba, Carly Rae Jepsen and Tina Turner, Dave and company are highly skilled at filling the dance floor, making them a perfect fit for any style of wedding.

The Suitcase Trio
We're big fans of The Suitcase Trio here at One Fab Day HQ. Not only have they got a great sound and give cracking performances, but their set list is so diverse, with everything from '90s dance covers to Indie acoustic tracks, and rock hits to raucous floor-fillers. There are just three guys in the band, but they manage to create the sound of a six-piece outfit!

The Cazettes Wedding Band
Looking for a cool and alternative wedding band? The Cazettes play everything from Bowie or Queens of the Stone Age to TLC and Blackstreet. Fun, funky and super slick, this mega talented line-up, was formed to offer couples something different - the band wanted to hear the kind of music they liked at their friends' weddings, and decided to do something about it! That doesn't they're too cool to fill the dancefloor, their setlist is laden with crowd pleasers, they build an individual setlist for every couple they work with and they love to learn something new! Wow Party Band
The talented quartet of musicians from Wow Party Band really know how to put on a show. In fact, they specialise in high-energy performances, complete with costume changes! Working from an enormous repertoire, that takes in The Beatles, George Ezra, Bruno Mars, Queen, Sia, Tina Turner and everyone in between, they're happy to create an '80s, '90s, or contemporary chart-themed setlist for your big day, but they're equally comfortable hopping from one genre to the other. They've also got some remixes and medleys in their arsenal, which means even more tunes for your buck!

A highly interactive, six-piece wedding band with male and female vocals and a superb brass section, Sax and the City tick a whole lot of boxes. A high-energy wedding band with incredible attention to detail, The Favours are a pleasure to deal with from your first email to the last note played on your big day! Arthur Band

Pink Champagne Wedding Band 
I know we've been saying this a lot, but these guys really know how to start a party! Pink Champagne Wedding Band are a group of musicians who just love what they do, and it really shows in their performances! These guys know how to create fun on the dancefloor! Each member of the band sings, which means that the list of potential songs is endless; country, rock, pop, swing, contemporary, classic - this lot can do it all! They can even bring out killer guitar solos or a bit of beatboxing, if you're up for it!

Top of the Popz
A wedding band that will leave you and your guests buzzing for days, Top of the Popz are an infectiously energetic four-piece. Based in Carrick-on-Shannon, but in demand for weddings nationwide, their varied set list includes '90s hits, chart songs and all the classic wedding floor-fillers. With a tight performance and fun stage presence, the band offer a complete wedding service, from ceremony and drinks reception music to evening band and DJ.

Velvet Lounge
With a jazz vocalist, their own brass section, double bass and unique percussion, Velvet Lounge will bring real refinement to your big day. But that doesn't mean that the music won't be terrific fun! The B Sharps

Blacktye
Don't want to choose between Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson, Rage Against The Machine or Depeche Mode? Blacktye are your band. Actually, they're more like chameleons in wedding band form! This talented troop of musicians have one of the most unique and varied set lists we've seen, including lots of songs normally reserved for the DJ set (Maniac 2000 anyone?). High energy and loads of fun, Blacktye offer a number of options for different kinds of weddings.

The Panoramics
As The Panoramics say themselves, they are a band first, and a wedding band second. Boasting serious moves and a cracking playlist, The Panoramics will bring plenty of favourites, without churning out just the same old tunes you hear at every wedding. Their repertoire is a little left of centre, featuring The Cure, U2, The Smiths, The Specials and The Waterboys - music lovers, this might be the band you've been searching for!

Million Days Band
An energetic four-piece boasting both male and female vocals, Million Days Band cover a huge range of styles and genres, making them perfect for weddings with a varied guest list! Their repertoire includes classic floorfillers from the '60s, '70s, '80s, and '90s, as well as current chart-toppers, and they're happy to tailor a set to suit the couple, and even learn new songs.
